youre better off doing it yourself..
Anyone know roughly how much a guitar shop would charge to install a bigsby on a telecaster?
Would be cool to see it on a Epi Casino.. but this explained me a lot, and showed its not that hard, thanks
its handy when they demonstrate your exact model guitar, gives u confidence
they shood have done this on a les paul or a flying v since theyre more common
Bigsby also has vibratos for the SG model, so they should most likely fit your guitar. Go to their side bigsbyguitar. com
Dots are semi-hollow which means that they have a solid block of wood running down the center. That’s what the stop tailpiece attaches to so we know it’s structurally sound. Bigsbys for hollow bodies are a little different.
For a flat top guitar, like your LP, the best thing you can do is installing a Bigsby B3. If you don’t like the Bigsby being anchored to the back of your guitar, like this one, a Bigsby B5 might be a solution (normally found op Fender Telecasters and sometimes a SG). These are top mounted
i might consider doing this with my dot studio, thanks for the guide
thnx so muh for posting this vid , i own a epi dot studio & have been wondering whats involved with attaching a bigsby for a looong time . nice werk
Makes me wanna put a b-700 on mine…already got a “v-cut” gretsch bigsby on it, but I left the stopbar using it all “roller bar”…works pretty well, but you should really get locking tuners because it’ll throw outta tune no doubt.
hey man, do you know if i have to order a different type of vibrato for a les paul special (it has a flat top) than for a studio? please write back, im dyin to get a bigsby
oooo my friend has one of those ! D:
how much did the bigsby cost
Question: I`m thinking of installing a bigsby. What I need to know is: if i am to play over the bridge (to get the chimey sounds) would that come out on the amp? or do i need to add a mic under the strings between the bridge and the bigsby?
Is the space underneath the tailpiece solid or hollow? How does the structure of the body hold up to the bigsby?
Would this work on an LP?
Cool vid.
the dot studio got really cool
great vid…thanks!
