I have an Epiphone SG G-310 but I am looking for something with more of a metal sound. I love the models of these guitars? Would it be a waste to buy one of these two guitars if I already have the SG? I am asking because of the small price difference. The drive on these guitars sounded great in the video.
i think im going to get the special 2gt, i play acoustic guitar but i want a nice cheap electric beginners guitar, and that what it is.. i also like the killpot switch (or somethin) =D 5/5
@bergerior thanks! I’ll have to start getting this technique down cuz it sounds awesome. BTW anyone interested in this guitar, you can buy it brand new for about $200, which to me is a steal.
@metalboy921 It is called a “falling icicle”. Its made famous by Claudio Sanchez (Coheed and Cambria), he use that trick on alot of live shows and on some songs for example “Devil in jersey city”. Hope it helped.
@card1100 the stock pickups sound great, for the price you just can’t beat it. I’m a rock/metal guitarist and I wouldn’t dream of changing the pickups out.
@metalboy921 Some mix of pickslide with hammer-ons/pull-offs/ It kinda gives a harmonic sound. I’ve never seen this technique before (I haven’t even noticed it here LOL), so I’ve no idea what it is.
@DGKALLDAYskater You’d get bored with that killswitch thing so quickly. It’s a nice feature to have, I guess, but to buy a guitar strictly because of this is not the best decision. )))
How does the Special 2 GT compare to the Epiphone Les Paul Special 2? They seem pretty much the same except for tremolo. Is it worth it to spend the extra money on the GT?
@psico234 Just go to your closest Guitar Center and check for yourself. They got ‘em for sure. It’s been couple of months since I saw the guitar, so I’m not 100% sure, but I think the difference in size is pretty significant. You can actually look at any picture of this guitar and kinda compare the body to the size of the neck and even humbucker pickups – the body really does look small. But you really should check it out for yourself. Who knows, maybe this will be the perfect size for you.
humm another question… i was really exited about the ex gt couse it is the design that i like the most, but when you said that it is really small compared with the original i was like shit… but anyways is the guitar really really small or it is normal ( i know, smaller than the original)
you could buy a Kahler tremelo which im goin to do when i get this guitar. it does have the kill switch also, it has veerything the 2gt has, except for the tremelo. and you only have to push in the switch and the button comes back up automaticallly. sweet little guitar.
