It might be that you’re using strings that are too heavy

It seems to me that if you use it a lot, they end up going bad.
A lot of people at mylespaul agree too.

I’ve never had a problem with any of my Epiphones bridges

Finally a good comparison.

Gibson has a bit more chruch and sustain. Could be changed with a few modifications, mainly a pickup change and a string change. From what I have heard Epiphones don’t come with the greatest pickups. Is this true? I’ve been playing for about a year and I’m thinking about buying this for my heavier rock stuff like Guns N’ Roses, ZZTop, AC/DC and Aerosmith. Is a pickup change really necessary to get a good sound?

Glockenator March 8, 2010 at 11:22 am

pretty much. the Gibson gets little more sustain, and a little more crunch, but really, almost the same

Glockenator March 8, 2010 at 11:46 am

they might as well be. the difference is so small

Glockenator March 8, 2010 at 12:34 pm

It’s a Standard Plus Top, in Transparent Blue

MADFREAKU March 8, 2010 at 1:22 pm

wat model epiphone is that ? like color ??

Goldminer63 March 8, 2010 at 1:24 pm

@Glockenator
If Gibson were the same as Epiphones, I wouldn’t buy one. I’ve played both and you can’t tell me that they are the same.

studio is bare bones, dot inlays no binding, Standard has trap inlays and binding on body.

It’s mainly just looks.

fighterzbt23 March 8, 2010 at 4:03 pm

dont know if to buy a epiphone les paul studio or standard. which one u think is best?

Glockenator March 8, 2010 at 4:46 pm

amen to that

Glockenator March 8, 2010 at 5:32 pm

the sustain can be changed by filing the nut, and putting better strings on it. and the crunch can be adjusted with effects. Gibsons are the same as Epiphones

g3speed14 March 8, 2010 at 5:33 pm

the gibson adds a little more crunch, and it sustains WAY more!

raquel1234ful March 8, 2010 at 6:31 pm

i would pick an epiphone a thousand times over before i picked up a studio

minijackass37 March 8, 2010 at 6:54 pm
